Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take insurance?
Please note that I am out-of-network with all insurance providers, which means that payment for services will be due out-of-pocket at the time of your appointment. However, if you'd like, I can provide you with a monthly Superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
What is a Superbill?
A Superbill is a document made for insurance companies that details the services a therapist or health care provider performed for a client. Essentially, it’s a receipt for your visit to the doctor’s office, but unlike traditional receipts, Superbills contain vital information, like diagnosis and procedure codes, needed for insurance payers to reimburse you for the services after you’ve paid. They're different from regular medical bills in that insurers use them to pay patients rather than providers.
If you have more questions about what a Superbill is, please click on this link for a helpful, in depth resource that may answer more of your questions.
What are your session rates?
The fee for the intake session (first session) is $165. All subsequent sessions are priced at $150 each. Payment will be processed at the end of each session via the card you provide.
How long are your appointments?
Appointments are generally 50-55 minutes.
Do you do EMDR therapy?
Yes, I offer EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). EMDR is a powerful therapeutic approach that helps individuals process and heal from traumatic memories, anxiety, PTSD, and other emotional distress. It works by using bilateral stimulation (usually through guided eye movements) to help the brain reprocess and integrate disturbing memories, reducing their emotional charge.
EMDR has been shown to be incredibly effective not just for trauma survivors, but for anyone struggling with stress, anxiety, or unprocessed emotions. It can help improve overall emotional regulation, reduce negative thought patterns, and increase self-esteem, making it a helpful tool for a wide range of mental health challenges.
If you or someone you know is interested in exploring EMDR therapy, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. For more information about what EMDR is and how it works, I encourage you to visit this website.
How long will I need therapy for?
The length of therapy depends on your unique needs and goals. It could be short-term, lasting only a few sessions, or longer-term, extending over several months or more. I encourage you to share your preferences with me, and together we can create a plan that aligns with what works best for you.
Do you see clients in person?
I see clients exclusively through Telehealth, using a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform called Simple Practice for all virtual sessions. This ensures that your privacy and confidentiality are fully protected during our time together.
What if I don’t know what my therapy goals are?
It’s completely normal to feel "off" at times or sense that you’re not living up to your fullest potential. If you're experiencing this, I’d be happy to work with you to explore what’s going on and collaborate on setting meaningful therapy goals that can help you move forward.
How do I get started?
Please fill out the form in the Contact / Scheduling session to get started. You may request a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if we are a good fit before committing to me as your therapist.
What if I feel like this is not the right fit for me?
If at any point you feel that therapy with me isn’t the right fit, please don’t hesitate to let me know. I’m more than happy to provide referrals to another therapist who may better align with your needs and goals.
